Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)
Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
- Patient types include neurosurgery, craniectomy, orthopedic cases
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6
- Drip experience required with Heparin, PCA's, 3% Sodium (no titration)
- Specialty equipment experience preferred: telemetry, chest tubes, left equipment, airvo
- Must float across multiple campuses
- EMR system: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment in the previous 12 months
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Driver's License
- Heparin, PCA, and 3% Sodium drip administration experience
- Neurosurgery experience
- Orthopedics experience
- Trauma experience
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Qualifications
- Trauma Level I experience
- De-escalation certification (CPI, MOAB, MAB, or SAMA accepted)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (can be obtained during onboarding)
- Professional references within the last 24 months
