Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech
Location: Everett, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Surgical Services (Cardiovascular/Thoracic focus)
- Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts
- Start Date: ASAP
- Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2-week period
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, weekend call shifts required
- Call Schedule: 1 to 2 weekday calls (Monday-Thursday) per week, plus 1 weekend call per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) depending on staff needs
- Floating: Required to float between Cardiothoracic OR and Main OR
- Locals: Not accepted
- Pending License: Accepted
Unit Information
- Procedures include CABG, AVR, AAA, MVR, minimally invasive valve surgeries, VATS, mediastinoscopy, RATS, CVL support with carotid cutdowns, and laser lead standby.
- Required skills: General, Cardiovascular/Thoracic, Laparoscopic surgical tech skills.
- Preferred skills: OB/GYN, Plastic, ENT, Urology, Robotic, Orthopedics, Neuro/Crani, Transplant.
- Flexible endoscope reprocessing preferred, especially bronchoscopes, EGD scopes, and EBUS.
- Must be able to singularly scrub cardiothoracic cases and float to general OR.
- Quick learner with willingness to assist others is highly valued.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CVOR Technologist license in Washington
- CVOR Technologist (2 years of experience)
- CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation

- Level II Trauma Center
- Total staffed beds: 571 (across campuses)
- Charting system: EPIC
- Parking: Facility paid
- Scrub color: Any except reddish orange
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
- Drug screen: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates.
- Fit mask testing required (not for sterile processing techs).
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within the last 3 years.
Training & Competency
- Must complete required WorkRamp modules annually, including:
- Regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules for Surgical Services
- Trauma informed care basics (if applicable)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable.
- Color blindness testing may be required on a unit basis.
Additional Notes
- Floating policy acknowledgment required.
- Pending licenses accepted with proper documentation.
- Candidates must be willing to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment.
- Quick adaptability and teamwork skills are essential.
This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Surgical Tech with Cardiothoracic experience to work in a Level II Trauma Center with a diverse surgical caseload.
