Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Role: RN Scrub in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) with cardiac call obligation
- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts (06:45 AM - 5:15 PM) with call coverage
- Responsibilities: Circulate and scrub CVOR cases; may also perform charge nurse duties
- Floating: Within hospital only (no floating to other hospitals)
- Patient Population: Orthopedic sports (limited total joints), minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general surgery, gynecology, urology, plastics; experience with neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular cases is a plus
- Work Environment: Very busy, high acuity academic setting
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- First-time travelers accepted

Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- Minimum 3 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, with CVOR experience within the last year
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current NRP certification
- CHEMO certification
- TNCC certification
- EFM certification
- National Tech Cert Verification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Schedule & Work Conditions
- Call: Cardiac call obligation with on-call shifts in 4-hour increments as needed
- Guaranteed Hours: May be called off or placed on-call during low census periods
- Floating: May float within hospital to other specialties if workload is slow
- Block scheduling: Not accommodated unless otherwise stated
Licensing & Compliance
- Must hold an active Washington State RN license (pending licenses not accepted)
- Background checks required including 7-year criminal history and other standard screenings
- Education verification required (diploma/transcripts acceptable)
- Drug screening required (10-panel)
- Fit mask testing required within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health requirements include:
- TDAP within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity documentation
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination documentation
- Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination
- COVID vaccination or declination documentation
Additional Requirements
- May need to complete suicide prevention training if using a multi-state license in Washington
- Must complete EPIC/Alaris integration training and attestation prior to start
- Photo for badge required before start date
- Various facility-specific agreements and checklists must be completed prior to assignment
