Position Details

- Floating: Yes, to other PCU and lower acuity settings within skillset; float to ED.
Job Description
- Patient Care: Potentially care for med/surg patients.
- Ratios: 1:5 (Possible 1:6); Hospital operates at over 100% capacity.
- Experience Required: 1 year.
- First-timers Accepted: Yes.
- Weekend Requirement: 2 per 4-week schedule; may vary by unit.
- On-call Requirement: No.
- Guaranteed Hours: Contracted hours (36/48/40) per week; facility can call off 3 times throughout the assignment.
Certifications Required
- ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BCLS: Basic Life Support
- NIH: National Institutes of Health Stroke Certification
- Additional Certifications: Telemetry, IV starts, and others as specified.
Special Requirements
- Licensing: NM license can be pending at the time of submission.
- COVID Vaccination: Required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentation.
- RTO Restrictions: Greater than 10 days needs approval.
- Local Candidates: Not accepted within 75 miles.
Hospital Highlights
- Type of Facility: Level I Trauma, Children's Hospital, Teaching Hospital, Short-term Acute Care.
- Total Staffed Beds: 554.
- Charting System: Cerner.
- Parking: No fee.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year prior to start.
- Fit Mask: Required; must pass fit test.
- TB Testing: Negative Qgold, Tspot, or PPD required within 1 year of start.
- Vaccinations: Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Flu vaccine required.
Background Check
- Criminal Check: 7-year criminal check within 30 days of start and updated annually.
- References: Two professional references within three years of hire.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
