Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) - Day shift
- Requires open heart experience
- Must be able to float to other units within the health system as needed, performing only tasks for which competencies have been demonstrated and documented
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Call requirements will be discussed during the interview
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
- Minimum of 1 year of CVOR experience, with CVOR experience within the last year required
- Open heart experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse with CVOR experience
- Minimum years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated, but open heart experience is mandatory (implies advanced CVOR experience)
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

- BLS (required)

- Physical exam and health documents as listed above
- Completion of all required facility-specific documents and acknowledgments
Additional Information
- Floating to other units is mandatory as per policy, but only to units where the nurse is qualified
- Online orientation modules must be completed within 72 hours of assignment
- Pre-assignment testing is time-sensitive and must be completed within 72 hours of receiving login information
- Candidates will have limited attempts to pass required tests; failure results in cancellation
- Facility is latex-free; latex allergies are acceptable
- Respirator fit testing will be completed onsite during orientation
This position is ideal for experienced CVOR RNs with open heart surgical experience who are flexible and able to work in a dynamic environment requiring floating to multiple units.
