Job Description

• License and Certifications: Indiana RN license and certifications must be in hand to submit.
• Charge Nurse: Must be willing to take charge when asked.
• Shift Requirements: 3x12s (three 12-hour shifts).
• Staffing Ratios: 1:5/6.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Certifications

• BLS - Basic Life Support
• NIHSS - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA only)
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA only)
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (AHA only)
• CHEMO - Chemotherapy
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• NIH Stroke Certification

Additional Requirements

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in Charge Nurse roles

Health Documents

• Tuberculin Skin Test (PPD), QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT within 1 year.
• Vaccination documentation for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella.
• TB Questionnaire (updated annually).

Skills and Education

• Skills Checklist required within 12 months and must be completed annually.
• Official Transcript or Diploma required (must indicate degree awarded and graduation date).

Important Notes

• Effective 11/30/24, Indiana RNs will not be allowed to work at IU Health facilities unless they fall under specific exceptions (e.g., Periop/OR RNs, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers).
• Complete facility-specific forms as a priority.
