Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel/Contract)
Location: Tyler, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Unit: Medical-Surgical ICU
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Number of Beds: 16
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years
- Travel Experience: Preferred (unit prefers travel experience)
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS* (as applicable)
- PALS* (Pediatric Advanced Life Support, as applicable)
*Other certifications such as NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, CPI, MAB, and NIH Stroke Certification may be required as applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience, with ICU experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS certification
- NIHSS certification
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Required immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
Background & Documentation Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Education verification (highest level)
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
- Professional references (internal requirement)
- Valid driver’s license or state ID
- Completion of employment application/resume submission
Additional Notes
- Scrub color: Charcoal Grey
- Candidates residing in certain counties in Texas are not eligible for travel contracts in this location.
- Fingerprinting and other onboarding requirements may apply depending on state and facility policies.
This position is ideal for experienced ICU Registered Nurses seeking a travel contract opportunity with night shifts in a medical-surgical ICU setting.
