Description
CVOR Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan
Specialty: Surgical Services
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Rotating day/evening shifts with 2x8-hour and 2x12-hour shifts per rotation
- Shift times include: 06:30-14:30, 14:30-22:30, 06:30-18:30, and 10:30-22:30
- Shift rotation is required
- Call requirements: 2-4 weeknights and 1-2 weekends per 4-week schedule
- Call shifts are no longer than 12 hours; weekend call is limited to either Friday-Saturday nights or Saturday-Sunday daytime only
- Patient population includes adult cardiac surgery, vascular, and thoracic cases with complex, high-acuity patients
Clinical Responsibilities / Case Types
- Cardiac: LVAD/RVAD, Heart Transplant, Aortic Aneurysm Repair, MVR, AVR, CABG, ECMO, MAZE, Aortic Balloon/Impella Devices
- Thoracic: Transplant, VATS Wedge Resection, VATS/Open Lobectomy, Esophagectomy (Minimally Invasive & Transhiatal), Bronchoscopy, EGD, Mediastinal Mass Removal, Laparoscopic & Open Hiatal Hernia Repair
- Vascular: AAA, EVAR, Carotid Endarterectomy, AV Fistulas, Fem-distal bypass, Fem-fem bypass, SMA bypass, Vein stripping/ablation
Required Qualifications
- CVOR Technologist with 2 years of experience
- CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- I9 or attestation documentation
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG (all required prior to start and updated annually)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (N95 masks accepted; PAPR requires failed fit test documentation)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; if past positive, clear chest X-ray within 5 years and annual TB questionnaire required
- Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella with boosters as needed
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted)
- Required facility-specific documents and attestations including confidentiality, code of conduct, conflict of interest, sexual harassment policy, and completion of orientation paperwork within 3 weeks of start

- Pass/fail competency testing (EKG/medication) required upon orientation for applicable units
This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for experienced CVOR Techs with prior travel experience who are comfortable with complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases and flexible shift rotations including call.
