Description
RN - Postpartum / Mom Baby (Travel Assignment)
Location
- City: Austin, Texas
- Unit: Women’s Tower, 3rd Floor
- Unit Type: Antepartum/Postpartum
- Number of Beds: 24
- Number of Staff: 26 (including 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 1 clerk during day; no PCTs at night)
- Patient Ratios: Typically 3:1 or 4:1, occasionally 2:1 depending on acuity
- EMR Systems: Meditech and CPN
Contract Details
- Employment Type: Travel
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Hours per Week: 36
- Call Requirements: None
- Weekends: Rotating
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Maternal-Newborn experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Labor & Delivery or Antepartum experience

- Non-stress tests
- Hyperemesis management
- Insulin drips
- Magnesium administration
- Heparin drips
Work Environment & Culture
- Teamwork-oriented
- Good communication skills essential
