Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Travel Position

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

Unit: Coronary Care Unit (CCU) / ICU
Number of Beds: 26
Staff per Shift: 15 (13 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, 1 Patient Care Tech) on both day and night shifts
Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 2 patients
Equipment Used: Balloon pumps, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Hypothermia equipment
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
BLS certification
ACLS certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with Meditech EMR
Prior travel experience in large facility ICU units is preferred but not required

Typical Procedures Performed

Management of heart catheterizations
Use of balloon pumps and CRRT
Hypothermia protocol management
Cardioversion
Central line care
Administration of medication drips
