Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech Maternal Fetal

Location

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (40 hours per week)
  • Weekends may be required based on staffing needs
  • May need to float to another clinic approximately 6 miles away

Job Description

  • Position located in a Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic
  • Must have detailed anatomy scan experience

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) with OB/GYN specialty

Required Qualifications

  • Ultrasound Technologist (1 year of experience)
  • Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ARDMS
  • Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography experience

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
  • 7-year criminal background check within 60 days of start, updated annually; includes all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days
  • Education verification through a third-party vendor; official transcripts required (photocopies not accepted)
  • Fingerprinting may be required depending on unit; Virginia State Police fingerprint results required for certain roles
  • Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry check required if assigned to behavioral health or specific units; must be processed within 45 days prior to start

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (Tdap after age 11; no exemptions allowed)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray with 2-step PPD within required timeframes; Qgold acceptable, Tspot not accepted
  • Annual TB questionnaire if past positive TB test
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; no declinations accepted for measles
  • Hepatitis B: Positive Hep B Surface Antibody titer required; if low/negative, additional antigen titer required; declinations not accepted
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or titer required; declination accepted but must be documented
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (no exemptions or declinations accepted)
  • Drug screening within 2 months of start and annually thereafter; 10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl; instant tests not accepted

Additional Requirements

  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
  • Pass/fail cardiac rhythm assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions and Mother-Baby units (informational for this role)
  • Professional appearance guidelines must be reviewed and acknowledged
  • Fit testing required for patient-facing clinical roles, completed onsite if needed
  • Compliance with traveler-specific documentation and screening forms prior to start
