Description
Nuclear Med Tech
Location: Beaumont, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 AM – 5 PM
Work Schedule: Full Time, on-call and weekends required
Case Load: Heavy; must work until every case is completed for the day
Job Summary
- Perform a wide variety of routine and advanced nuclear medicine imaging procedures.
- Support other imaging technologists as needed and help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as required.
- Troubleshoot basic equipment maintenance, participate in quality assurance, and resolve image processing and archiving issues.
- Maintain radiation safety protocols while handling radionuclides and pharmaceuticals.
- Complete daily logs and periodic tests as required by licensure.
- Participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within scope of licensure.
- Adhere to expected imaging competencies and organizational values, including professionalism, confidentiality, and communication.
Responsibilities
- Promote staff growth, development, and employee engagement through collaboration.
- Provide meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians to promote physician satisfaction.
- Adapt patient assessment and care methods to accommodate unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-specific needs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Perform examinations/procedures to assist patient throughput within scope of licensure and competencies.
- Ensure exams are correctly scanned and stored in PACS; follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate issues as needed.
- Report equipment malfunctions and follow up appropriately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Texas
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist (1 year of experience)
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
Additional Information
- Must be able to work heavy case load and remain until all cases are completed.
- On-call and weekend availability required.
