Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel)

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Provide nursing care in a 54-bed Emergency Department designated as a Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center.
  • ED treats over 60,000 patients annually, serving all age groups.
  • Work alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff in a 24/7 staffed environment.
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients.
  • Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
  • Work schedule includes 36 or 48 hours per week, holidays as required, and every other weekend.
  • This is a patient-facing, clinical position.
  • Facility uses Meditech EMR.
  • Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
  • Parking is available.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Alabama
  • ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
  • ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • TNCC
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Information

  • Timesheet approver roles assigned (primary and backup).
  • Not a remote position.
  • Must be willing to float to other units/hospitals.
