Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Overview

  • Unit: Cardiac Cath Lab Recovery
  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Patient Ratio: 3:1
  • Support Staff: CNA support available
  • Equipment: IV Pumps, Specialty Beds, Bedside Monitors, Telemetry Boxes, Zoll
  • Documentation System: Cerner
  • Scheduling: Three 12-hour shifts per week (0600-1830 or 0800-2030)
  • Floating Policy: Float to IR Pre/Post; flexible based on volume
  • Procedures on Unit: Sheath pulls, groin management, cardioversions, radial access site management, general anesthesia recovery

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in an inpatient setting
  • Moderate sedation experience
  • ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
  • Cardiac Stepdown experience
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification

  • Dress Code: Green hospital-issued scrubs
  • Patient Experience Requirements: Critical care and/or previous procedural experience (IR or Cath Lab)
  • Unit Highlights:
    • The unit is part of a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
    • Recognized for nursing excellence with Magnet® designation
    • Uses advanced cardiac care technology and performs complex cardiac procedures
    • Offers a supportive team environment with experienced staff
    • Schedule offers consistent 12-hour shifts with some floating opportunities

This position is ideal for experienced cardiac nurses seeking a travel assignment in a high-acuity cardiac procedural unit with advanced technology and a strong clinical team.
