Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry (Travel/Contract)

Location: Greer, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Guaranteed hours based on signed contract
• Weekend shifts as needed
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Local candidates not accepted (must be outside 75-mile radius)
• Start Date: July

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience
• Medical-Surgical / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID) carried during shifts
• Social Security Card (if used for I9 verification)
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation
• Background check: 7-year criminal history covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
• Education verification: Associate’s degree or higher in nursing (diploma or transcript required)
• Primary source verification of RN license (including NURSYS verification)
• Facility-specific documents including photo for badge and on-call policy form
• Physical exam within 1 year, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start, updated annually
• Immunizations/vaccinations or approved exemptions required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (mask required if declined during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1 and 2 required or declination form)
• Drug screening within 90 days of start (10-panel plus oxycodone and marijuana)
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year if respirator use is required

Testing & Competencies

• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required annually
• Pass/fail testing on cardiac arrhythmia and medication dosage calculation on first day of orientation
• Moderate sedation test may be required for some units (not MS/Tele)
• Color blindness test not required for this role

Scheduling & Shift Requirements

• Must complete either:

  • 2 on-call shifts every 6 weeks, OR
  • 2 additional regular shifts every 6 weeks
• Night shift only (7 PM to 7 AM)
• Weekend shifts as needed

Additional Notes

• Pending licenses accepted but must be active before start
• All requested return-to-office (RTO) dates must be submitted with initial application; late requests will not be considered
• Candidates must be able to pass all required tests and certifications by the first day of orientation
• Attendance and compliance with facility policies strictly enforced

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 2 years of experience in medical-surgical or telemetry units who are comfortable with night shifts and pass rigorous competency testing. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
