Description

Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Rotating weekends)
Hours per Week: 36

Unit & Work Environment

Unit: 2 South ICU (COVID ICU)
Number of Beds: 14
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Equipment: ECMO (NxtSTG), CRRT (NxtStg)
Documentation System: Meditech
Schedule: 3 shifts per week, every other weekend
Floating: Required as needed (must comply with floating policy)
Call: None required
High acuity COVID ICU with advanced interventions such as VV ECMO

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
ACLS certification
BLS certification
NIHSS certification
Comfortable managing vasoactive drips
Strong understanding of hemodynamics

Preferred Skills

Experience with ECMO and CRRT
Familiarity with Meditech documentation system

Procedures Performed on Unit

ECMO
CRRT
Chest tube insertions
Central line insertions

Dress Code & Appearance Guidelines

Scrubs: Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
Nails: Clean and healthy
Hair: Neat, clean, no extreme styles or colors
Facial Hair: Clean and neatly trimmed
Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions addressed individually
Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; other visible piercings prohibited

Additional Information

No call requirements
Guaranteed 36 hours per week
Unit offers advanced technology and a supportive environment for critical care nursing
Candidates must be prepared to float within the hospital as needed

Note: Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement for this position.
