Description

Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Rotating weekends)
Hours per Week: 36


Unit & Work Environment

  • Unit: 2 South ICU (COVID ICU)
  • Number of Beds: 14
  • Patient Ratio: 1:2
  • Equipment: ECMO (NxtSTG), CRRT (NxtStg)
  • Documentation System: Meditech
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, every other weekend
  • Floating: Required as needed (must comply with floating policy)
  • Call: None required
  • High acuity COVID ICU with advanced interventions such as VV ECMO

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • Comfortable managing vasoactive drips
  • Strong understanding of hemodynamics

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ECMO and CRRT
  • Familiarity with Meditech documentation system

Procedures Performed on Unit

  • ECMO
  • CRRT
  • Chest tube insertions
  • Central line insertions

Dress Code & Appearance Guidelines

  • Scrubs: Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
  • Nails: Clean and healthy
  • Hair: Neat, clean, no extreme styles or colors
  • Facial Hair: Clean and neatly trimmed
  • Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions addressed individually
  • Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; other visible piercings prohibited

Additional Information

  • No call requirements
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week
  • Unit offers advanced technology and a supportive environment for critical care nursing
  • Candidates must be prepared to float within the hospital as needed

Note: Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement for this position.
