Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Employment Type: Travel
- Location: Dallas, Texas
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Oncology ICU (7ES)
- Number of Beds: 10
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters (no techs)
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse and nurses as needed (no techs)
- Patient Ratios: 2:1
- Equipment Used: Ventilators, CRRT, A-line, Bipap, Flow-track, IV pumps
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year ICU experience
- Must Have:
- Strong ICU experience
- Titrating drips
- Caring for patients on ventilators
- Bipap patient care
- Preferred Skills:
- CRRT experience
- Transplant experience (Kidney, Pancreas, Liver)
Certifications & Licenses
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Certification
- Registered Nurse License
Work Environment & Expectations
- Typical Procedures: Care of critically ill patients including total care, turning, titrating drips, dressing changes, trach care
- Personality Fit: Compassionate, team player, good rapport with physicians
- Floating Areas: All ICUs, PCU, BMT
- Dress Code: Blue scrubs
- Shift Times: Report at 0645 and 1845, clock in/out for lunch
- Schedule: Rotating weekends
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience caring for patients on Bipap
- Bone Marrow Transplant experience
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
