Job Details

• Position: NICU Registered Nurse (Level III)
• Location: Portland, Oregon
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1 depending on unit needs
• Floating: Required to float between units and possibly to other nearby facilities based on skill set and unit needs
• On-Call: Yes, as agreed upon by the nurse
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Block Schedules: Not required
• Vehicle: Must have a vehicle for this assignment

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
• Minimum 2 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, with NICU experience within the last year
• Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Valid Driver’s License

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID and Social Security Card (as applicable)
• Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
• E-Verify attestation required
• Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires additional documentation
• State-specific searches and registries as applicable
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use (travel only)
• Fit mask testing required for travel starts (updated annually)
• Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS platform

Additional Notes

• Floating policy acknowledgment required; may be required to float to other facilities within reasonable distance
• Must be willing to work night shifts and every other weekend
• 48-hour shifts are approved
• Facility provides scrub colors for OR/Cath Lab; other units allow any color
• Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background)
• Epic training modules required and must be completed within orientation timeframe
