Registered Nurse - Postpartum/Mom Baby (Travel Assignment)
Location
- Austin, Texas
Contract Details
- Travel assignment
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- No call required
- Hours per week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit type: Antepartum/Postpartum
- Number of beds: 24
- Number of staff: 26 (including 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 1 clerk during day; no patient care technicians at night)
- Patient ratios: Typically 3:1 or 4:1, occasionally 2:1 depending on acuity
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems: Meditech and CPN
Typical Procedures on Unit
- Non-stress tests
- Hyperemesis management
- Insulin drips
- Magnesium administration
- Heparin drips
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Post Partum experience within the last year
- Minimum 1 year of Post Partum nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Labor & Delivery or Antepartum experience
Work Environment & Culture
- Teamwork-oriented unit
- Good communication skills essential
- Scrub color: Navy blue
