Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU
Location: Thornton, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- ICU with 28 beds divided into two pods:
- Pod A: 12 beds (opened 01/2019)
- Pod B: 16 beds (second floor)
- Staff: 42 total
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:2; can range from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity
- Equipment includes Pyxis, Plum Pump IVs, GE bedside monitors, Nelcor, Artic Sun, Sub Zero
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Colorado
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Preferred Qualifications
- TNCC certification
- Experience with Meditech EMR
Typical Procedures and Patient Types
- Neurosurgical care
- Trauma (currently Level III, upgrading to Level II)
- Cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest management
- Alcohol and drug withdrawal management
- Care for all ventilated patients
