Description
Operating Room RN
Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (32 hours per week, Dayshift)
Job Summary
- Perform perioperative nursing duties including preoperative patient assessment, nursing care plan development, operative care implementation, and postoperative evaluation.
- Evaluate and document the effectiveness and appropriateness of nursing care provided.
- Assist in case setup by assembling equipment and supplies using sterile technique.
- Open sterile packs, instruments, and supplies according to sterile technique.
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning, prepping operative sites, confirming procedure and site with surgical team, and assisting patient transfers.
- Perform surgical counts (sponges, sharps, instruments) and document nursing care on legal records.
- Assist with operating room cleanup and proper disposal of used supplies and sharps.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado.
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- At least 1 year of surgical nursing experience.
