Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Department: Respiratory Services
Facility size: 854 beds
Staff: Approximately 120 respiratory therapists
Shifts:
- Day: 15-20 RRTs for adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatric service lines
- Night: 12-16 RRTs for adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatric service lines
Patient ratios: 10 to 25 patients per therapist
Equipment used:
- GE R860 Adult ventilators
- Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
- Newport HT70 transport ventilator
- V60 Non-invasive device
- Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Cerner
Floating assignments: All critical care units and floors
Dress code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs
Weekend requirement: At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Weekly hours: 36 hours

Required Qualifications

Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Successful completion of an exam to assess competence for the Respiratory Therapist role or training/education on handling hazardous drugs according to USP 800 standards

Preferred Qualifications

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
