Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Description

  • Position for Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department (ED), and Transport experience required
  • Every other weekend required; holidays as needed
  • Scrub color: Black

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Maryland
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working with adult patients
  • Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Certifications & Competencies

  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must score 80% or higher)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with specific scoring requirements (for applicable units)
  • Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
  • Other certifications as required by unit description (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification for ICU/Telemetry units)

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification for highest degree required by position
  • I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start and monthly thereafter
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), including multiple substances
  • Physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
  • Annual TB questionnaire and negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon, or T-spot) within 1 year
  • Immunization documentation required for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap preferred within 10 years)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Varicella (2 VZV vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept–March)

Experience & References

  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
  • Verification of minimum 2 years of employment in the past 7 years, preferably the most recent 2 years

Additional Information

  • Off-cycle orientation accepted; orientation sessions available every Monday
  • Locals within 60 miles may be considered at a different rate (not included here)
  • Valid driver’s license required if driving on behalf of the employer is an essential job function
  • Facility-specific modules must be completed prior to start date
  • Photo for badge must meet specific requirements (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
