Job Description
- Support Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and float to overflow areas including Emergency Department (ED) for patient holds.
- Scheduled for 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee.
- Must be agreeable to alternating 36/48 hour schedules.
- Start date within the next 3-5 weeks.
- Night shift: 3 or 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM).
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year.
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Background check within 1 year, including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide, and sex offender registry.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- NURSYS verification within 30 days of start.
- State nursing license verification within 30 days of start.
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start.
- Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and COVID vaccination documentation.
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/1–5/31) or facility-specific medical/religious exemption.
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
- References: 2 required within 3 years.
- Employment application or resume.
- Annual updates for skills checklist and orientation safety manual acknowledgment.
Additional Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific forms prior to start (e.g., parking policy acknowledgment, confidentiality statement, code of conduct, traveler orientation).
- Flu medical or religious exemption forms if applicable.
- Hepatitis B declination form if no positive titer on file.
- TB questionnaire required regardless of TB status.
This position is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with PCU and ED float assignments, night shifts, and flexible scheduling in a travel nursing role.
