Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location

  • Willmar, Minnesota

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
  • Schedule: 2 weekends on, 1 weekend off
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

  • Provide respiratory therapy services across multiple areas including Emergency Room, hospital floors, and ICU.
  • Must have a broad skill set to serve a diverse patient population.
  • Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) skills are a plus.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Minnesota.
  • Minimum 1 year of Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year.
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Certifications issued by the American Heart Association:
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

Compliance and Background Checks

  • Criminal background check required within one year of start date, including:
    • 7-year search, SS trace, county, sex offender, nationwide checks.
    • Education verification (not required for CNAs).
    • International background checks if candidate has lived/worked outside the U.S.
  • Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint clearance required before start; candidates cannot begin with fingerprints pending unless approved with a “more time needed” letter.
  • GSA/SAM and OIG excluded provider checks required.
  • Primary source verification of state license required.

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
  • Fit mask test (N95) required.
  • Tdap vaccination required (no religious declinations accepted).
  • Tuberculosis screening per Minnesota state guidelines (2-step PPD or equivalent testing).
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (chickenpox).
  • Hepatitis B vaccination, positive titer, or declination accepted.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required during flu season; mask required if declined.
  • Drug testing (9-panel) within 1 year of start (not required annually).

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references from recent employers within the last 2 years.
  • Skills checklist required.
  • Completion of facility-specific education modules during orientation.
  • Dress code: Dove gray scrubs (light gray) for RRTs.
  • Photo for badge with specific guidelines (grey background, no selfies, JPG format).

Important Notes

  • Candidates must complete a Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint Questionnaire immediately after signing the contract.
  • Fingerprinting must be completed within 2 weeks of registration.
  • Candidates may need to travel to a location offering livescan fingerprinting if not available locally.
  • Candidates must sign a confidentiality agreement prior to start.
  • Badges must be returned to management on the last day of assignment.

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with prior travel assignments who are comfortable working night shifts in a hospital setting with diverse respiratory care responsibilities.
