Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
- Shifts:
- Day Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM)
- Evening Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
- Hours per week: 36 hours
- Schedule Requirements:
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Float within skillset required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Triage experience
- Ability to float within skillset
- Experience with Cerner
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start and monthly thereafter
- Education verification as required by position
- Health & Safety:
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon, or T-spot) within 1 year; if history of TB, additional documentation required
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Sept–March)
- Documentation:
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Skills checklist and competency exams updated annually
- Photo for badge with specific requirements (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
Notes
- Locals within 60 miles may be considered at a different rate (not disclosed here)
- Candidate must be prepared to complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Valid driver’s license required if driving is an essential job function
