Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)
Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care for patients in Med Surg/Medical Surgical - Telemetry, IMCU, stepdown, or PCU units.
- Patient types include ED observation, overnight stays, and various surgeries requiring overnight care.
- Typical patient ratios range from 3:5 to 2:7.
- Unit bed size: 16 beds.
- Scrub color: Navy.
- Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime applies after 40 hours.
- Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.
- Orientation is 16 hours.
- Electronic Medical Record system used: EPIC.
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Valid RN license in Iowa.
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, with telemetry experience within the last year.
- Experience in PCU (Progressive Care Unit) and stepdown settings.
- One completed travel assignment.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Heparin experience.
- Experience with Epic.
- Driver's License.
