Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Titusville, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Acute Care Hospital setting with 210 staffed beds
• Mixed unit with high acuity patients
• Patient ratio experience required: 1:6
• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating required within scope of practice, including rapid response team duties
• Experience with total joint patients required
• Mandatory clinical orientation week: 5 shifts (36-40 hours)
• No block scheduling allowed
• No return to office (RTO) during first or last week of assignment
• Local candidates not accepted (must live more than 30 miles from facility)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
• Patient ratio experience of 1:6
• Floating experience within scope of practice
• Experience with total joint patients
• Rapid Response team experience
• Ortho Trauma experience
• Certifications:

  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Orientation & Training

• Must complete facility-specific job description and orientation packet
• Must complete eLearning modules prior to start (approximately 4 hours)
• Must complete Non-Employee Orientation Quiz and Information Form (time sensitive)
• Must review and sign various facility-specific acknowledgements and forms (e.g., confidentiality, tobacco-free policy, clinical orientation acknowledgement, timecard expectations)
• Pyxis Authorization Form required for RNs
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams required (passing score 84% or higher)
• Color Blind Testing through Relias required (score 80% or higher)

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background check within 6 months including:

  • Social Security trace
  • County, nationwide, and sex offender checks
  • Education verification (ASN, BSN, or MSN for RN)
  • Motor Vehicle Record if driving is part of the job
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
• Education verification must meet facility standards; certain nursing schools are not accepted
• Two professional references within last 2 years required
• Performance evaluation within last year required if previously worked through any agency
• Skills checklist required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
• Required vaccinations or proof of immunity (or signed waivers if applicable):

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Flu vaccine or declination form
  • COVID vaccine documentation or approved exemption forms (religious or medical)
• 9-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Fit mask testing completed onsite during first week

Additional Notes

• Strict attendance policy: 3 call outs result in termination
• Shift change notices:

  • Less than 48 hours notice refusal may forfeit guaranteed hours
  • More than 1 week notice refusal may result in termination
• Holiday work requirements based on number of holidays during assignment
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
• Charting system: Meditech
• Scrub color: Any
