Registered Nurse (RN) Flex Pool - Days
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Float between various medical and surgical units including Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular Unit (rarely)
- Utilize equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
- Nurse-to-patient ratios:
- Medical Unit: 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
- Laulima Unit: 1:6
- Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
- Professional nursing attire required (clean scrubs)
- Orientation provided for each unit
- Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday
Shift Details
- 12-hour day shifts (06:45 AM to 07:15 PM)
- Scheduled 36 hours per week after first week of orientation
- No guarantee of hours
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Stepdown experience
- Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) experience
Additional Information
- Prior travel experience is required for this position
- Floating to multiple units is a core job function
