Description
RN Surgical Acute
Location
- Hilo, Hawaii
Contract
- 13 weeks
- Contract role
Schedule
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Night shift
- Must be able to work weekends
- No on-call requirement
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS
- Strong work experience in pre/postoperative nursing, including abdominal surgeries (lap chole/appy), mastectomies, thyroidectomies, chest tubes, and drains
- Preoperative experience
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience
Clinical Setting
- Adult surgical unit with 34 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1 RN to 5-6 patients
Key Responsibilities
- Provide surgical pre- and postoperative care
- Perform standard RN III duties and skills
Equipment / Systems
- Vital signs machines
- IV and PCA pumps
- WOWs/EMR charting
- Pyxis
Floating
- May float to other units or departments
Dress Code
- Regular nursing uniforms
