RN Surgical Acute

Location

Hilo, Hawaii

Contract

13 weeks
Contract role

Schedule

Three 12-hour shifts per week
Night shift
Must be able to work weekends
No on-call requirement

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Hawaii
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg (2 years of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
BLS
ACLS
Strong work experience in pre/postoperative nursing, including abdominal surgeries (lap chole/appy), mastectomies, thyroidectomies, chest tubes, and drains
Preoperative experience
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience

Clinical Setting

Adult surgical unit with 34 beds
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1 RN to 5-6 patients

Key Responsibilities

Provide surgical pre- and postoperative care
Perform standard RN III duties and skills

Equipment / Systems

Vital signs machines
IV and PCA pumps
WOWs/EMR charting
Pyxis

Floating

May float to other units or departments

Dress Code

Regular nursing uniforms
