Registered Nurse - Postpartum

Location: Thornton, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

Unit: Postpartum / Gynecology
Beds: 14 LDRPs (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) and 2 Operating Rooms
Staff: Approximately 60 total
Typical Day Shift Staffing: 1 Charge RN, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
Typical Night Shift Staffing: Similar to day shift
Patient Ratios:
- Labor & Delivery: 1:1 to 1:2 maximum
- Postpartum: 3:1 maximum (per AWHONN guidelines)
Equipment: Beacon system
Electronic Medical Records (EMR): CPN and Meditech

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Preferred Qualifications

Labor & Delivery experience
Prior experience with Meditech EMR

Typical Procedures Performed

Vaginal deliveries, including assisted deliveries
Cesarean sections (C-sections)
Dilation and Curettage (D&C)
