RN Oncology Infusion Clinic
Location
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length
13 weeks
Schedule
10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
Job Summary
Provides nursing care for adult oncology infusion patients in a hospital clinic setting, including chemotherapy administration, patient education, monitoring, documentation, phone triage, and follow-up coordination.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma
- Infusion experience within the last year
- At least 1 year of infusion experience
- Experience in an outpatient setting
- At least 1 year of chemotherapy experience
- Oncology experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ONS/ONCC certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Education
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications, chemotherapy drugs, IV infusions, and blood products
- Monitor patient status and physiological data
- Assist physicians with conscious sedation and minor diagnostic procedures
- Document patient responses and changes in orders
- Provide chemotherapy-related education to patients and families
- Coordinate follow-up care and referrals
- Communicate care plans with patients and families, including phone triage
