Description

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lubbock, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Details

  • Position floats between units.
  • Weekends required: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period.
  • On-call: Not required.
  • Block schedules: Not required.
  • Patient ratio: 1:5.
  • Special requirement: Experience with Epic Hardstop system.
  • 48-hour shifts approved.

Facility Type

  • Short Term Acute Care hospital.
  • 379 staffed beds.
  • Level II Trauma Center.

Uniform/Dress Code

  • Licensed nursing personnel (RN, LVN): solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (scrub tops may have colored piping). Print tops not allowed except in Children’s Hospital units.
  • Women’s Services units have unit-specific scrub attire requirements.
  • Unlicensed personnel wear solid hunter green uniforms or scrubs.

Required Qualifications

Licensure

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.

Education

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Certifications

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
