Schedule

• Nights
• 18:45–07:15
• Alternating weekly schedule: 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next
• Every other weekend
• No call

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Adult step-down/telemetry setting
• Target ratio: 1:4
• Float assignment: ED IVC sitter

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Stepdown experience within the last year
• 2 years of stepdown experience
• Telemetry experience
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Clinical Skills / Experience Needed

• Cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration
• Feeding tube care and management
• Continuous bladder irrigation
• Port, central line, peripheral line, and PICC management
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Heparin protocols
• Cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
• Care for patients with CVA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, and total joint replacement
• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Ventilated patient care
• Chest tubes
• High-flow nasal cannula and nasal cannula oxygen support
• Non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions/PPE
• Wound care/wound vac

Patient Diagnoses

• A-fib RVR
• Hyperglycemia
• Hypertension requiring drips
• Heparin drip

Orientation

• 24 hours
• Hospital orientation occurs during the first week, with daily class attendance required

Dress Code

• Navy scrubs

Important Notes

• RTO after booking is not allowed
• Additional RTO or call-offs may result in cancellation and DNR
• Interview availability for the next 72 hours must be provided at submission
