RRT Pediatrics

Overview

Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
Hours per week: 36
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
On-call: No
Floating: May float within scope depending on experience
First-time travelers: Accepted

Required Qualifications

Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS
NRP
Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients
Registered Respiratory Therapist experience
Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience

Experience

NICU Level IV experience required; Peds ICU experience will be considered

Preferred

Epic experience

Schedule Notes

Holiday rotation
Block scheduling may be considered with prior approval, but is not guaranteed
RTO must be submitted at time of application and is subject to unit needs

Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements

Proof of 2 clinical references
Complete application/resume with PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
Skills checklist, updated annually
Annual background check
Education verification
Physical exam, updated annually
Fit test within 90 days of start and renewed annually
Tdap within 10 years of start or declination
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
Annual TB questionnaire
Hepatitis B documentation
Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity documentation
10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
COVID vaccination documentation or declination
Flu vaccination documentation or exemption, if applicable for the season
Color blind testing
Orientation modules and first-day instructions must be completed before start

Additional Notes

Locals are accepted on a case-by-case basis
Radius rule: 60 miles
Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
Hurricane season may require assignment to emergency response teams
