RN - Postpartum

Overview

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment type: Travel
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Hours per week: 36
Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit Details

Postpartum unit with 29 beds
Typical patient ratio: 3-4 couplets per RN
Common equipment includes vitals machines, CPN monitors, and point-of-care glucose monitoring
Uses Meditech / CPN

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Post Partum (1 year of experience)
Post Partum experience within the last year
Experience in an Acute Care setting
BLS
NRP

Preferred Experience

High-risk postpartum experience
Level 2 nursery experience

Common Responsibilities

Point-of-care glucose monitoring
Breastfeeding support
Postpartum hemorrhage management
Assist with circumcision
Hypertension assessment and management

Work Environment

Busy postpartum unit with a close-knit team
Flexible scheduling
High-risk patients are cared for on this unit, while low-risk patients are separated to a nearby free-standing LDRP unit
