Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

• Florence, South Carolina

Position Details

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: No
• Floating: Must be able to float within scope to all hospital areas, including labor and delivery
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Local Radius: 60 miles (locals not accepted)
• Block schedule accommodation: No

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
• Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Respiratory Therapist experience
• One completed travel assignment
• Recent critical care experience
• Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam: Initial and updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if low titer
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination; boosters allowed if low/non-reactive titer
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
• Tuberculosis screening:

  • Negative 2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold within 90 days of contract start (T-spot not accepted)
  • If positive, chest X-ray proof required
  • Annual TB questionnaire required
• Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• COVID-19:

  • Vaccination not required but highly preferred
  • Vaccination records must be uploaded to facility system or a declination form completed
• Respirator clearance: Annual medical clearance required via RespSafety questionnaire prior to start

Background and Verification

• Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:

  • SSN trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, international searches
• Employment verification: Last 3 clinical employers verified (not required for this facility)
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Performance evaluation: Must be dated within 12 months of start
• Skills checklist: Must be updated annually for applicable units

• Photo for badge: Clear, passport-style photo with solid light background, frontal view only
• Completion of facility-specific documents prior to start, including:

  • Assignment acknowledgment
  • Code of conduct review
  • Employee confidentiality agreement

  • Orientation modules (approx. 4 hours) must be completed before orientation; failure to complete results in being sent home

• Flu vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations; documentation deadline December 5th
