Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location
- Florence, South Carolina
Position Details
- Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Must be able to float within scope to all hospital areas, including labor and delivery
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Local Radius: 60 miles (locals not accepted)
- Block schedule accommodation: No
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
- Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Respiratory Therapist experience
- One completed travel assignment
- Recent critical care experience
- Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam: Initial and updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination; boosters allowed if low/non-reactive titer
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Tuberculosis screening:
- Negative 2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold within 90 days of contract start (T-spot not accepted)
- If positive, chest X-ray proof required
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- COVID-19:
- Vaccination not required but highly preferred
- Vaccination records must be uploaded to facility system or a declination form completed
- Respirator clearance: Annual medical clearance required via RespSafety questionnaire prior to start
Background and Verification
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:
- SSN trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, international searches
- Employment verification: Last 3 clinical employers verified (not required for this facility)
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Performance evaluation: Must be dated within 12 months of start
- Skills checklist: Must be updated annually for applicable units

- Photo for badge: Clear, passport-style photo with solid light background, frontal view only
- Completion of facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
- Assignment acknowledgment
- Code of conduct review
- Employee confidentiality agreement
- HR policy manual review
- Systems user agreement
- User access request
- Job description acknowledgment
- HIPAA confidentiality agreement
- Orientation modules (approx. 4 hours) must be completed before orientation; failure to complete results in being sent home
- MINI orientation review and acknowledgement
- Upload COVID and flu vaccine documentation into facility system
- Flu vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations; documentation deadline December 5th
- Drivers license and Social Security card copies required
- E-Verify attestation confirming work eligibility in the US required
