Description
ICU RN
Job Overview
- Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
- Hours per week: 36
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Schedule notes: Every other weekend, float as needed, holidays as needed
- Unit focus: ICU for a primary trauma and stroke unit
- Patient ratio: 2:1 or 1:1
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit (3 years of experience)
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Trauma experience
- Experience with Epic
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam confirming the candidate is free of communicable diseases and can perform the job without restrictions
- Annual fit test using approved mask options
- Negative QuantiFERON TB test or chest X-ray if there is a past positive result
- TB questionnaire
- MMR immunity or vaccination documentation for measles, mumps, and rubella
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination documentation, declination, or exemption during flu season
Orientation and Training
- Online orientation and required modules
- Nursing-specific orientation modules and annual training modules
- ICU-specific nursing module on attaching Spiros to the end of primary or secondary set
- IV medication safety module
- Recognizing impairment in the workplace module
- PPE donning and doffing for COVID-19 attestation

- Dysphagia and aspiration precautions module
- End-of-life module
