Assignment Details

  • Travel/contract role
  • 13-week contract
  • Night shift: 3x12s, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Weekdays with every other weekend required
  • 36 hours guaranteed
  • First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met
  • May float if needed, within scope

Unit Overview

  • Intermediate care unit with 15 beds
  • Cares for adult and pediatric surgical and vascular patients needing close cardiac monitoring
  • Handles priority transfers from ICU
  • Invasive monitoring capability, including arterial and central venous pressure monitoring

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in West Virginia
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Driver's License
  • Cardiac telemetry/telemetry experience
  • Post-TAVR (Transcatheter aortic valve replacement) patient care
  • Post-CEA (carotid endarterectomy) patient care
  • Post-femoral popliteal bypass patient care
  • Invasive line monitoring
  • Transvenous pacemaker management
  • Chest tube management
  • Respiratory ventilation management
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Dysrhythmia management

Preferred

  • PALS

Additional Notes

  • Holiday time-off requests should be limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays
  • Orientation is held every other Thursday
  • Free parking for travelers
