RN - NICU

Job Overview

  • Location: Thornton, Colorado
  • Employment type: Travel
  • Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • Hours per week: 36
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Colorado
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Experience

  • Level 3 or Level 4 NICU experience
  • Experience with Eat Sleep Console for babies with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
  • Admissions and initial stabilization experience in the delivery room

Unit Details

  • NICU with 6 beds
  • Typical patient ratios: 3:1 for feeder-growers; 1:1 for vented babies
  • Core staffing includes NICU RNs and an NNP on site 24/7, with neonatologists on call 24/7
  • Common procedures include assistance with umbilical line placement, intubation, lumbar puncture, and circumcision support
