Emergency Department RN
Job Overview
- Location: Anchorage, Alaska
- Employment type: Travel
- Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Hours per week: 36
- Weekend schedule: Rotating weekends
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
- Prior Emergency Department experience
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- TNCC
- NIHSS
- ENPC
- CPI
Preferred Experience
- Stroke experience
- STEMI experience
- Trauma experience
- Pediatrics experience
Unit Details
- Emergency department with 20 headwall beds and 4 hallway spaces
- Typical patient ratio: 4:1, or 6:1 for low-acuity ESI 4 and 5 patients
- Common procedures include splinting and breathing treatments
Work Environment
- Team includes charge RN, flow coordinator, RNs, ED techs, and US staff
- Shift coverage varies across day, mid, and night shifts
- Preferred candidate traits: flexible, transparent, positive, outgoing, efficient, and a team player
Dress Code
- Navy blue scrubs, appropriately fitted
