Description
GI / Endoscopy Technician
Overview
- Specialty: Surgical Services
- Location: Portland, Oregon
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Call: 24-hour call once per week and one weekend every 6 weeks
Role Summary
- Assists the RN and physician during endoscopy procedures
- Sets up and turns over procedure rooms before and after cases
- Supports endoscopy procedures in the ICU and Operating Room as needed
- Transports equipment for setup in other locations
- Performs pre-cleaning and decontamination of the endoscope
- Works across an ambulatory surgery center and an inpatient unit
- Must be able to ride the aerial tram between locations
Required Qualifications
- Endoscopy Technician experience within the last year
- One year of experience within the last five years in a clinical or hospital-based GI procedure unit or surgical procedure room setting, including assembling supplies and instruments, preparing rooms for procedures, and participating as a procedural team member
- Completion of a surgical tech program at a community college or one year of clinical/hospital-based GI procedure unit or surgical procedure room experience within the last five years
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with therapeutic procedures such as EUS, ERCP, and DBE
- SGNA GI Assistant Certification
Additional Notes
- Overnight and weekend call may be required depending on experience
