Surgical Technologist - CVOR

Location

Louisville, Kentucky

Contract

13 weeks

Schedule

40 hours per week, 8 hours per day

Job Summary

Works under the direct supervision of an RN in the operating room. The role requires strong operating room knowledge, flexibility with duties, and the ability to support room turnover, cleaning, stocking, and central sterile tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C)
  • Completion of a Surgical Technologist Program in the United States Armed Forces
  • One year of experience as a Scrub Tech or equivalent training
  • Surgical Technologist experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Support patient safety in the operating room, including time-out procedures, labeling solutions and medications, counting per policy, and handling specimens, implants, and explants safely
  • Maintain sterile technique and the sterile field
  • Prepare for procedures efficiently, including knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, sutures, and supplies
  • Assist the OR team by completing assignments, helping peers and students when needed, and returning the room to ready state after cases
  • Care for instruments and equipment, and report broken or unusable items
