Description
PCU Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Columbus, Ohio
- 13-week assignment
- 12-hour rotating shifts
- Every other/third weekend required
- Floating within the medical center is required
Unit Details
- 22-bed unit with an average daily census of 20
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Common cases include burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries
- Special procedures include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- 2 years of PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a similar patient population
- Previous charge RN experience
- Teaching hospital experience
Additional Requirements
- Unit-specific competency exam
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam
- Background check and fingerprinting
- Emergency contact form

- 2 professional references, including at least 1 from a manager/director or other formal leader
- Annual orientation safety acknowledgment
- Annual ethics and compliance policy acknowledgment
- Annual fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Annual flu vaccination or declination during flu season
- Drug screen before start
- Physical exam documentation
- Tdap documentation
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity/vaccination documentation
Schedule Notes
- 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week
