Description

Medical Surgical Nurse

Overview

  • Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
  • Weekly hours: 36
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Med Surg (2 years of experience)
  • Med Surg experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred

  • NIH certification
  • Neuro experience

Assignment Details

  • Patient ratio: 1:5-6
  • Floating is required
  • Weekend shifts: 12-16 per contract
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated
  • RTO limit: 7 days maximum
  • Travelers may be assigned to storm, hurricane, mass casualty, or disaster response coverage as needed
  • Mid-contract consolidation to a centralized office may occur, with reassignment to units as needed

Clinical Focus

  • Neuro surgical procedures and neuro diagnoses

Unit Information

  • Scheduling is managed by the manager
  • Orientation includes 2 unit orientation shifts after hospital-based orientation
  • Scrubs: Navy

Additional Notes

  • Locals are accepted
  • Prior travel experience is not required
