Registered Nurse — Med/Surg Telemetry

Overview

Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Shift: 12-hour nights
Weekly hours: 36
Contract length: 13 weeks
Patient ratio: 1:6

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
2 or more completed travel assignments
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Management of dysrhythmias

Schedule and Unit Expectations

Every other weekend required
Floating required to other Med/Surg/Telemetry areas, including possible COVID care units
RTO after booking is not allowed
Block scheduling is not guaranteed

Clinical Focus

Primarily stroke patients
Also cares for possible neurosurgery patients and other neuro diagnoses, including epilepsy and subdural hematomas
Unit includes an epilepsy monitoring area, though travelers are typically not affected unless trained for it

Additional Notes

Navy scrubs required
Unit orientation is 36 hours
Local candidates are accepted
ACLS is preferred but not required
