Pre-Op RN Travel/Contract Job

Overview

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Washington
  • Preoperative experience with 2 years of experience
  • Preoperative experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience
  • Endoscopy experience
  • Radiology experience
  • Experience with Epic

Role Details

  • Works in pre-op with outpatient infusions and procedures under the Ambulatory Procedure Area
  • Patient population includes pre-operative morning admission patients
  • Core responsibilities include pre-procedure workup, check-in, medical history review, starting IVs, drawing labs, patient education, and phase 2 recovery
  • Blood transfusion, starting IVs, and central line management are listed as hard stops
  • Telemetry interpretation and management are part of the role
  • Occasional pediatric patients may be seen, but this is rare

Experience Preferences

  • PACU or procedural experience is preferred
  • Sedation experience is not expected, but training may be provided

Additional Notes

  • Magnet, teaching, Level I trauma facility
  • Epic charting
  • Scrubs: any solid color; light blue scrubs are also provided on the unit
  • Onsite parking is available for a fee
