Medical Surgical Nurse

Schedule

Day shift
36 hours per week
12-hour shifts
1:5–6 patient ratio
12–16 weekend shifts per contract
Float required
Manager schedules
Blocked scheduling may be accommodated depending on request
7 days maximum RTO; no RTO otherwise

Contract Length

13–26 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg (2 years of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

Neuro experience preferred
NIH certification preferred

Clinical Focus

Neuro surgical procedures and neuro diagnoses

Unit Details

Pyxis
SBAR
EPIC
2 unit orientation shifts after hospital orientation
Navy scrubs

Additional Expectations

May be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team coverage
May be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
May be preassigned to units as needed
