Description
Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Columbia, South Carolina
- Medical-surgical telemetry unit
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift: 3x12s, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Patient ratio: 1:5
- Every other weekend required
- On-call required, but rare
- May need to float within scope to meet facility needs
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis if within 60 miles
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Qualifications
- NIHSS
Schedule Notes
- Block scheduling may be considered with manager approval, depending on unit needs
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements
- Driver’s license or state ID
- Social Security card
- Work eligibility attestation and completed I-9
- Background check
- Education verification
- Nursys verification
- 2 clinical references, including at least 1 from the same unit
- Completed application/resume with PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
- Skills checklist
- Physical exam within 90 days of start
- Tdap within 10 years of start or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity or vaccination documentation
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Flu vaccination documentation or approved exemption during flu season
- COVID vaccination documentation is highly preferred; declination accepted if not provided
- Respirator safety clearance
- Orientation modules and facility-specific onboarding documents before start
- Photo for badge
- South Carolina state exclusion list
Facility Notes
- Acute care hospital
- Royal blue scrubs
- Parking is available at no fee, but a parking pass is required for downtown lots
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, June through November
