PACU Registered Nurse

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Portland, Oregon
  • 13-week assignment
  • Day shift: 3x12s, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
  • No weekends or holidays

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oregon
  • PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
  • PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ED - Emergency Department experience
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred Experience

  • PACU-related experience in ENDO, IR, or CATH LAB settings
  • Knowledge of arterial and venous femoral access, sheath removal/management
  • Knowledge of anesthesia recovery (Phase I/II)
  • Knowledge of TEE, cardioversion, or BMBx procedures
  • Experience on a Shared Governance council or committee
  • Experience as a Charge RN in ICU, PACU, ED, or a Procedural Unit

Work Environment

  • Cares for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in cardiac cath, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and gastrointestinal/endoscopy areas
  • Provides cardiac monitoring and recovery for patients receiving moderate procedural sedation or general anesthesia

Additional Notes

  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong communication, active listening, conflict management, time management, and patient care coordination skills are emphasized
  • Candidate must be fully available for compliance needs up to the start date
  • Government-issued photo ID is required on the first day to obtain a badge
  • Background check, references, skills checklist, and employment application history are required as part of onboarding
